Bright future ahead for Knights

The future is looking bright for Leeds Knights ice hockey club with the exciting news of a second team being submitted, which will be called Leeds Knights 2.

The second team will compete in the NIHL1 north league in the 2024/25 season. The aim being to develop young talent and build for a strong future.

Names in the current squad roster includes Dan Norton, Aaron Jordan, Luke Reid, Owen Dell and Ollie Wagg amongst others. With a total of thirteen players so far, and with more signings to be added to this already great roster, the future looks bright.

Assistant coach Davey Lawrence told the club website:

“Things are now progressing nicely, we still have a few more signings to make but things are moving in the right direction.”

Lawrence is the assistant coach to Leeds Knights first team, but he will be the main coach for Leeds Knights second team, taking the reigns from August and he will be relishing the opportunity ahead.

The 2024/25 season for the first team will begin on Saturday 14 September. More details and ticket information can be found on the official club website.

The first pre season match will be on Sunday 1 September.
