A man and woman are starting jail sentences after being convicted of controlling a drug line in the Beeston area of Leeds.
Back in July officers from Leeds District Precision Team executed a warrant on Malvern Road at the home address of Anthony Staten and found a large amount of Class A drugs worth more than £19,000.
This included just over 34 grams of Diamorphine laced with Nitizines, which is up to 500 times stronger than heroin.
Staten, 33, was sentenced to eight years and nine months behind bars for possession with intent to supply class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin) and for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
Natasha Lewis, 38, also of Malvern Road, was sentenced to four years for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Detective Inspector John Graham of Leeds District Precision Team said:
“Illegal drugs will not be tolerated in our communities, and this operation shows how we have dismantled a sophisticated drugs operation in Leeds.
“We hope that this sentence will serve as a warning to others that if you are involved in the supply of drugs, we will act on the information we receive to identify you, arrest you and bring you before the courts.
“Information from the community is vital and allows us to thoroughly investigate this illegal trade.
“I would encourage anyone with information about drugs supply to contact West Yorkshire Police or Crimestoppers to support this continued disruption of those involved in the supply of drugs.”
