Beeston Hill family fun day returns

After the success of the Community Fun day at Rowland Road last August, the Beeston Hill Community Association (BHCA) Committee, along with local craft traders, have come together to run a similar event this year.

The Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday (16 August 2025) 11am-4pm at Rowland Road WMC, Beeston (LS11 6ED). This will be a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy a afternoon out in the local community and have lots of fun!

It can be hard to keep the kids busy on a budget in the summer holidays so there will be lots of free activities for children and adults alike – there will a bouncy castle, a Circus skills workshop, arts & crafts, a DJ as well as an Owl show! The Rowland Road Play Patch will also be open 11am-3pm (during the event) so there will be plenty to keep the children entertained with messy play and den building – all for free!

BHCA Committee member and one of the lead event organisers Shaz Akhtar says:

“Bringing the community together is one of our main priorities at BHCA. Uniting though fun and laughter and hope for the future. Being supported by the very community we work in to show potential in the power of the people.

“Come join us for a wonderful day full of community spirit and so much for the kids to do during the summer holidays.”

There will also be lots of stalls, most of which are local sellers to support trade and talent within our community. There will be visitors there from other local organisations and services, such as Leeds University who are promoting their ‘Life Long Learning’ scheme which seeks to help people from all backgrounds access further education.

This event has been supported using donations given by local residents at the BHCA’s Iftar event earlier in the year, as well as numerous local people and businesses who have donated their money, time or talent to enable this event to happen. Working together and partnering with others is a brilliant way to showcase all the positive things about our area. We hope you will come and join in the fun!
