Do you run a community group in inner south Leeds? Well now’s the chance for you to apply for some cash!
Community First is an £80 million government-funded initiative which will run until March 2015. The programme will help communities come together and identify their strengths and priorities in order to plan for the future and become more reslient.
City and Hunslet ward has been awarded a total of £237,370 from the fund, Beeston and Holbeck has netted a total of £152,595 and Middleton Park £118,685.
Grants from £250 to £2,500 are available from the first round of funding for new and existing groups.
Groups don’t have to be registered charities to apply but they must be able to match fund any grant awarded, either in volunteer time or with another grant.
South Leeds Life has linked up with with the folks at Community First to encourage local groups in south Leeds to apply for funding.
For more information and how to apply, visit the special Community First section of the blog (which can also be found at the top of our home page). South Leeds Life will also bring you the latest news and information on the initiative.
