A summer of art and drama for children in Beeston

UPDATED: This programme is now fully booked.

This summer, community-led theatre company Brave Words CIC will provide free activities for children at Beeston Village Community Centre through the school holidays. Each Friday, working in partnership with Health For All who run the centre, children aged 5-15 years will be able to join in with healthy and creative activities from 10am-4pm. A free lunch is provided for every child who comes along.

Funded by Leeds Community Foundation’s ‘Healthy Holidays’ scheme, the Summer of Art and Drama is completely free. Many local people already know Brave Words from the popular Wednesday evening youth theatre which runs during term time at the centre. But children don’t need to have been to Brave Words before to join the summer activities, which will give them the chance to spend time doing creative things and making new friends.

“You can express yourself and it helps your mental health,” said Ellie, 11.

The Summer of Arts and Drama is completely FREE, but places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. Email hello@bravewords.co.uk to book, or phone 07868 323105.
