The Friends of Middleton Park are hosting a free guided winter walk in Middleton Park on Sunday (15 February 2026).
This is the first of their 2026 Monthly Guided Walks which will take place every month in the park up to November.
The Friends are doing a Winter Guided walk in the Park, hopefully taking in some parts of the Park less visited. This will depend on the weather and conditions underfoot. We hope to see and hear signs of spring approaching, maybe hear the Woodpeckers drumming, and generally enjoy the woodlands.
The winter lack of undergrowth means many of the lumps and bumps in the ground indicating past activities are more easily seen – the guides will do their best to tell the stories of what went on in the woods in times past.
Join us at 1pm this Sunday (15 February) at the Visitor Centre in the park, there’s no need to book.
With the recent rain, the ground can be a little difficult. So please wear walking shoes or boots, and don’t forget to wrap up warm and dry. The Visitor Centre is accessed off Town Street, LS10 3SH.
