What’s happening in BITMOs GATE In April.
Each month we have a range of activities, events and courses available for FREE at BITMOs GATE, which is the new resource centre next to Belle Isle TMO’s housing office on Belle Isle Road.
New for this month, working alongside Leeds City College we have a 12 week ESOL class starting Thursday April 21st from 10am until 12.30 in the GATE.
We have a number of one off events in April including an Easter Egg hunt on Friday April 8th between 12 and 1 and on the following day – Saturday April 9th between 9.30am and 12 – we have an indoor car boot sale in the GATE!
On Tuesday April 19th, working alongside the Dogs Trust we have a free Microchipping event between 11am and 3pm. Pandoras box will be paying a visit with some exotic Animals/Reptiles.

Computers
Our computers are available to use for free between 9am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays. We also have Wi-Fi if you’d prefer to bring your own laptop, tablet or smart phone.

Health Trainer
Each Monday the GATE has appointments available. Katie will provide up to 8 confidential one-to-one sessions to help support and motivate you in achieving small goals to improve your health; this could be losing weight, starting to exercise, changing eating habits. Art Class

Writers Group
Meeting Mondays every 2 weeks the writing group aims to nurture writing talent from Belle Isle and the surrounding areas. The dates for April are the 4th and April 18th from 5pm.

Tuesdays
NEW Computer Classes for Beginners.
Starting Wednesday April 27th from 9.30am at BITMOs GATE…learn how to ‘surf’ the internet, create an email account and send/receive emails. Classes can also include help using universal jobmatch, Microsoft Office and anything else you need support with!
Tasty Tuesdays. In partnership with South Leeds Foodbank and the Ciaran Bingham Foundation Trust, BITMOs GATE serves a hot lunch – soup and a bread roll – every Tuesday 11.30am till 1pm… Tasty Tuesdays!
Talk Cash Wise

Carers Leeds & Mencap Parents Group.
Second Tuesday of each month 1pm to 3.30pm.
Wednesdays.
Bitmo Gate Walk and Talk.
1 hour walk from and back to THE GATE. All walking abilities catered for. Recent walks have been Middleton Park, Cross Flats Park and even walks along the Woodlesford Lock tow path. 12pm – 1pm.
Along with Carla’s help have applied for a grant to buy such things as Pedometers for the group and more. Will keep you updated.
Citizens Advice Bureau.
If you need help and advice to resolve a problem, you can visit the Citizens Advice Bureau at BITMOs GATE on Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Free guitar lessons with John at the GATE. He’ll teach you how to read music and play chords for free in a friendly group setting.

Black African Ladies Group ‘Aiwa’
