Half term activities round up

This coming week is half term so we’ve compiled a round up of activities to help you keep tyour kids occupied and engaged:

Camps at The Hunslet Club

The Hunslet Club host their regular Activity Camp from Monday to Friday. Thewill also be a Rugby Camp, Dance Camp, Football Camp and Art Camp during the week. Full details here. The Hunslet Club is located on Hillidge Road, LS10 1BP.

Superheroes at the Royal Armouries

The much-loved Superheroes event is returning by popular demand to the Royal Armouries Museum at Leeds Dock, LS10 1LT. Running from from Saturday 14 – Sunday 22 February, the free family event is back with hands-on activities, live shows and creative fun. Leeds Storytelling Festival

Leeds Storytelling Festival will return from Saturday 14 February to Sunday 8 March, bringing a citywide celebration of stories especially for children and families. Highlights include Likkle Lit Fest dedicated to Black literature and writing for children and young people; BBC CeeBeebie’s Story Time Rave on Monday; and Wrongsemble’s retelling of the Rapunzel fairytale. Discovery more at Leeds museums

Leeds has too many objects to show in the museum so it stores over 1 million of them at Leeds Discovery Centre near Leeds Dock in Hunslet. Over half term they are running behind the scenes tours of the collection store on Monday 16, Wednesday 18 and Friday 20 February. On Tuesday 17 and Thursday 19 February they are running workshops exploring historic love and friendship gifts with a chance to make your own. Full details and booking at: bit.ly/LdsDiscCentre. Half term sports camp

Hunslet Rugby Foundation are running a sports camp featuring fun indoor and outdoor activities at Leeds Corinthians, Ring Road Middleton, LS10 4AX and at the Belle Isle welcome Centre, St John & St Barnabas Church, Belle Isle Road, LS10 3DN. DAZL Dance Camp

Running from Monday-Thursday, 10am-2pm, DAZL are running a special dance camp for 5-11yrs at Manorfield Hall community centre in Belle Isle (LS10 3RR). Wild Play and Bushcraft

Head to Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Stourton for a Wild Play day on Tuesday 17 February for 8-12 year olds from 10am-4pm. Activities may include wide games, fire making, outdoor cooking, whittling and more.

Dive in

Could you be the next Tom Daley? Active Leeds are running a Learn To Dive course at the John Charles Aquatics Centre (LS11 5DJ) on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 February, 9:30am-2:30pm. Jungle fever at the White Rose

Families are invited to swing into February half term at White Rose Shopping Centre as its much-loved free craft club returns with a roarsome jungle-themed experience for little explorers from Monday to Friday. Fun for the whole family, drop-in crafting sessions will be held from 10am–4pm each day in White Rose’s Central Atrium, near the escalators leading to The Balcony and The Village. And don’t miss the 2.5m tall gorilla!

Garden clean up and pancakes

Coming up on Tuesday St Luke’s Church on Malvern Road, LS11 8PD is having a clean up and gardening day for the Community Hub. All tools and equipment are provided, but please dress for the weather. It’s a perfect family activity to take part in, but no unaccompanied young people please. Pancakes and hot chocolate will be available.
