The Hunslet Club launches ‘Get Kids Moving’ campaign

The Hunslet Club has officially launched its brand-new campaign, Get Kids Moving, aimed at encouraging more young people across South Leeds and beyond to get active, try new activities, and discover the joy of movement.

Each week, the Club will be offering free beginner and development sessions in a variety of sports and recreational activities including football, boxing, gymnastics, rugby, dance, and art to give every child a chance to get involved, no matter their background or experience level.

The campaign is part of the Club’s wider mission to support the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of young people while removing barriers to participation in sport. By focusing on fun, confidence-building, and inclusivity, Get Kids Moving aims to make it easier than ever for children to find something they love and stick with it.

“We want to show young people that there’s something for everyone here,” said Chris Boyce, Sports Manager.

“Whether it’s sport, dance, art, we just want to help them get moving, stay active, and feel good about themselves. The Hunslet Club has the facilities, the coaches, and the community to make that happen.”

The campaign also calls on local schools, youth provisions, and families to get involved by sharing information, encouraging participation, and helping spread the message that movement matters.

With over 100 weekly activity sessions, and the recent opening of its £1.2 million 3G Sports Village, The Hunslet Club continues to build on its 85-year legacy of supporting young people across Leeds to reach their full potential.
