As part of our election coverage South Leeds Life is hosting three online hustings meeting again this year.
All the candidates standing in the Leeds City Council elections for our three wards have been invited and we would like you to join us too. This is your opportunity to put your questions to the candidates and hear what they think about key local issues.
The three meetings will all be held on Zoom as follows:
Middleton Park Ward
Tuesday 23 April at 7pm
Meeting ID: 884 8690 2855
Beeston & Holbeck Ward
Wednesday 24 April at 7pm
Meeting ID: 830 3637 7484
Hunslet & Riverside Ward
Thursday 25 April at 7pm
Meeting ID: 885 8045 6932
Each meeting will be chaired by South Leeds Life Board members.
Please email your question to info@southleedslife.com. Please include your full name address and specify which ward meeting you wish to ask your question in. Remember that questions should be in a form that can be addressed by every candidate.
There will also be a chance to ask questions on the night via the ‘Chat’ function. Each meeting will be recorded and published following the meeting for those who are unable to join the meeting live.
We are not organising a hustings meeting for the West Yorkshire Mayoral election, but the BBC did. You can watch it on the iPlayer at: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001yggb/a-mayor-for-west-yorkshire
Don’t forget that we’ve also invited candidates to submit a short written statement and video – you can read these on our election pages here.
While you’re here, can we ask a favour?
South Leeds Life is published by a not-for-profit social enterprise. We keep our costs as low as possible but we’ve been hit by increases in the print costs for our monthly newspaper which have doubled in the last two years.
