A community fundraising event is being held at St Matthew’s Community Centre in Holbeck later this month. A World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support will feature live entertainment, raffles and prizes and refreshments. Hunslet residents have welcomed proposals for a new skate park for young people, which will be based off Pepper Road. Last night’s Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association meeting heard that work is due to start on the council-run park later this month. A planning application for a cinema, four new catering outlets and additional retail space, including extensions to the existing Debenhams and Primark stores at White Rose Shopping Centre, will be submitted to Leeds City Council later this year, it’s been announced today.
