Windmill Primary School Sing Carols on Belle Isle Circus

On a very cold December evening Windmill Primary School children from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 walked down from their school and gathered on Belle Isle Circus to sing carols and switch on the Belle Isle Circus Christmas Tree lights.

The children were the only ones that looked warm, all the adults looked frozen.

Approximately 200 children gathered with their parents on the perimeter of the circus with each area given a school form number and name. Good idea as parents could meet up with their children, or keep an eye on them.

Councillors:  Judith Blake, Kim Groves and Paul Truswell attended the concert.

Judith on the microphone to tell the crowd that the lights had been damaged in some way, so only the carols would be sung.

The lady conducting the carol singers was very enthusiastic. Could do with her on last night at the Proms. I swear she started off at one end of the Circus and ended up at the other end. Lol.  Well done lass.

The Christmas tree light situation is likely to be resolved on Tuesday (9 December 2014) so look out for the lights if you’re in the area.
