White Rose Shopping Centre is welcoming a huge state-of-the-art M&S this week (25 May), the first store of the brand’s new-look layout in the north of England.
The 97,000 sq ft store is opening with celebrations including a Golden Ticket giveaway for the first 200 visitors, Golden Hangers with incredible prices hidden across the Clothing & Home departments, and appearances from iconic characters Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar.
M&S’ new store replaces its existing White Rose branch following significant investment, creating 230 jobs, and boasts a physical and digital hybrid shopping experience including fast and efficient self-service click and collect screens, spacious fitting rooms with instant-buy options, and quick and easy furniture-ordering.
Foodies are set to be delighted by a new-concept, 164-seat M&S Café; a shimmering disco ball pizza oven offering slices to eat immediately; delicious Fresh Counters where visitors can pick up rotisserie chicken, pizza to cook at home, baguettes, salads, and more; a market-style Foodhall complete with a Cheese Barge; mouth-watering Percy Pig ‘slushees’ and Colin the Caterpillar frozen shakes; and a Fairtrade coffee-to-go stand complete with dairy-free milk options.
Yorkshire’s fashionistas won’t be disappointed either, with huge women’s, men’s, and children’s departments plus a Jaeger concession and luxurious Beauty Hall.
Steven Foster, Centre Director at White Rose, said:
“We’re so close now to unveiling our spectacular new M&S store, and we can’t wait to see what our visitors think. We’ve seen the buzz on social media and despite a few sneak peeks, we know that guests will be surprised by what’s in store
“M&S is an esteemed retailer with strong local roots, and we’re delighted that the brand chose to invest in its White Rose store and make this their first new look M&S in the North of England.”
M&S White Rose opens at 10am on Thursday 25 May 2023. The store is situated on the north side of the centre, near Car Parks 3 and 4.
Visitors to M&S, and all of White Rose’s 100+ shops and restaurants, can take advantage of more than 5,000 free parking spaces and long opening hours.
