What’s On Roundup: 15-21 February 2020

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

The Cottingley Winter Wellbeing Festival is being held on Saturday morning, 10am-12pm at the Young Dementia Leeds Hub (formerly Spring Field Day Centre) near to the Community Centre on Cottingley Drive.

Leeds Young Archaeologists’ Club meet on Saturday morning, 10am-12pm at Middleton Park visitor centre

There will be a Litterpick in Holbeck Cemetery  on Saturday from 10:15am.

If you are interested in finding out about Buddhism, get along to Jamyang Buddhist Centre in Holbeck for their Discovering Buddhism event on Saturday 10:30am-12:30pm.

Cllr Paul Wray will be holding his monthly round of advice surgeries in Hunslet & Riverside Ward. He starts at Hunslet Community Hub at 10am; Dewsbury Road Community Hub 11:15am; The Hunslet Club 12:30pm; Middleton Railway 1:45pm; Dock 29 2:45pm and Woodhouse Hill Community Centre 4:15pm.

Leeds United entertain Bristol City on Saturday, kick off 3pm. If you live near the ground you can expect traffic congestion before and after the match.

Leeds Dads meeting on Sunday at The Holbeck club, 2-4pm, targeting dads and their pre-school children, it’s great fun in a supportive environment.

That’s followed at 5pm by Heaven’s Gate, this week’s visiting show presented by Slung Low at The Holbeck. A group of believers are waiting for the end of the world … and as with all things at The Holbeck its Pay What You Decide.

After that excitement you might need the Sound Bath offered at Jamyang Buddhist Centre at 6:30pm.

Tuesday night is Quiz Night at Beeston Parish Centre. St Mary’s church has teamed up with Barclays Mortgages to run the quiz with proceeds going to Wheatfields Hospice. There will be food and a raffle and the bar will be open. The fun starts at 7:30pm.

Take your dog along to BITMO’s GATE in Belle Isle on Wednesday, 11am-3pm. The PDSA will be offering free check ups and dog chipping.

Sheaf Street Cafeteria on Crown Point Road host their After Work Wednesdays Open Mic night on … Wednesday, 6-11pm.

St Luke’s Tenants & Residents meet at St Luke’s Primary School on Thursday, 6pm for people living in the area around Malvern Road and Hunslet Hall Road.
