The free event will run 11am-3pm on Hunslet Recreation Ground, off Grove Road and Church Street, Hunslet LS10 2QT. It will feature face painting, games and sports, snacks and drinks, slush puppies, den-building, crafts, and more! It is designed as an event for families, but children aged 8+ can attend unsupervised. There will also be information about an opportunity for local youngsters to attend a boating trip on the Skipton canal next Thursday (31 August).

Pat Jackson, chair of the TARA, commented:

“The summer holidays are long, and we know it’s a challenge to keep the kids occupied – so we just want to put on something local and positive for everyone. We held one of these last year, and the kids who came loved it. We’ll also be talking about the boating trip we’re organising for youngsters next week. See you there!”

Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association meet the first Wednesday of each month, 6.30pm at the Church of the Nazarene – and offers local residents an opportunity to bring up and discuss local issues, and help make the community better. All welcome.

Separate to this event, the Council Youth Service are running a ‘Bite Size Breeze’ event at the Pepper Road recreation ground the following day (Friday 25 August): click here.
