Spotted Cow’s Head needs ‘moo’ving

When the Spotted Cow Inn in Holbeck was demolished several years ago the figure of the cow’s head above the main front door was saved and taken for storage at the premises of Slung Low underneath the railway viaduct. The idea was that, as part of Holbeck’s heritage, it could be incorporated in any new development planned for the vacant site. Unfortunately, there are still no plans to use the site in the near future.

Slung Low is now moving from its existing premises into the Holbeck Club in January. Regrettably, the head cannot be moved there and so a new home is needed for it. The ‘beast’ is in three parts and each part is very heavy and needs some TLC.  It would be a shame to lose this legacy of Holbeck’s past forever and so I am appealing for somebody to come forward with a positive suggestion of help – either for use or continued storage.
