Ofsted use four categories to grade schools: Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement and Unsatisfactory. Of the 24 schools in LS10 and LS11, 78%, just over three quarters, were judged Good or Outstanding in their most recent Ofsted inspection report. This figure compares with 81% across Leeds and 74% for Yorkshire.

The figures show a small improvement from the previous year with one school moving from Requires Improvement to Good.

The three schools judged Outstanding are Beeston Hill St Luke’s, Greenmount and St Anthony’s. All three are primary schools located in Beeston.

The only school judged Inadequate was The South Leeds Academy. It was last fully inspected in June 2013 and a follow up in October 2013 found the Academy’s Action Plan to address its problems was “fit for purpose”.

Two schools which have recently converted to Academies have no published Ofsted report. These are Cottingley Primary Academy and Park View Primary Academy (formerly Cross Flatts Park Primary).
