Call me biased, but I’m going to start this Roundup with coverage of Saturday’s Beeston Festival. The festival’s website has a photo slideshow and a collection of Tweets from the day which gives a great sense of instant feedback. Hunslet Hawks reported on their involvement with the Beeston Broncos rugby match at the festival, local community TV channel Emaan TV posted a video and Yorkshire Evening Post had a report too. The YEP has been busy in South Leeds this week. They report on pupils at Broomfield SILC in Belle Isle creating a mosaic for the school, as well as the tragic death of a toddler also in Belle Isle. Finally they report on DAZL’s young dancers latest successes.

The Festival of Archaeology is coming soon and Friends of Stank Hall Barn are advertising an open day when you will be able to see inside this hidden gem of South Leeds. You can also see how some of them dressed up in period costume at Beeston Festival.
Over in Belle Isle at BITMOs GATE they have plans for a walking group and special guest at Belle Isle Gala, meanwhile their Tasty Tuesday’s are going from strength to strength.
Holbeck Working Men’s Club have a race night on Saturday and wrestling coming up on 28 June.

Friends of Middleton Park are looking for a few more volunteers to help them with their summer programme. This week it’s the Middleton Festival of Dance, whilst on Saturday the Council are running a Family Sports Day in the park.
