South Leeds Life News Cafe moves to a new Day

Hi Everyone,

I have changed the day of the South Leeds News Cafe from Thursdays to Wednesday. This is held at Middleton Elderly Aid. Centre on Acre Road, Middleton. This will fit into my diary a bit better.

The News Cafe starts from 9am to 11am. The Arm in Arm walking group takes place from 11am.

Come and have a bacon sandwich and hot drinks and give me your local news stories. The centre is for the over 60s and there carers.

Here is one of the stories that a member of MEA gave to me on the last News Cafe and is from Mavis, a long standing contributor to South Leeds Life.

Mavis says:

“We had a day out recently in Oswestry and Iron Works. The journey took 2 hours to get there, but 4 hours to return due to traffic.

We enjoyed good weather. The Iron Works was beautiful, but very pricey ornaments.

Oswestry was very good. A lot of stalls and plenty of shops with many bargains.

We all had a nice dinner in a local pub, before setting off for home.”
