Small sustainable businesses will be popping up at White Rose this summer

White Rose has welcomed new diverse and unique small brands as The Pop-Up Club opens its summer pop-up shop in the centre, bringing independent and small brands to trade alongside the shopping centre retailers.

Making over £500k in 2021 for its traders alone, the company organises markets and pop-up shops in retail units, creating a fun and engaging space for local makers, artists, and small, sustainable brands to showcase and sell their crafts, clothing and accessories.

Founded in 2017 by entrepreneur Tillie Peel, the pop-up shop launches for five weeks with over 30 diverse brands in store, many of which hail from Leeds and North of England.

The pop-up experience will feature items and work from talented traders including handmade treasures from Peneloh, beautiful prints and artwork designs from Art by Arjo, and handcrafted jewellery from KALEI.

Situated in the centre of White Rose, an excellent position opposite H&M, the pop-up shopping experience will be open to the public until 31 July. The store will be open to shoppers seven days a week – see White Rose website for daily opening hours: white-rose.co.uk

Founder Tillie Peel said:

“Leeds is a new exciting location for us and for our small traders to meet shoppers and to encourage the shop small and local ethos, which can see a huge boost to the local economy. While people are being careful with their money post covid, we want to help and encourage shoppers to remember that supporting local businesses can have a huge impact.

“There are over five and half million small businesses registered in the UK and if every person supported a small business with just £10, a substantial figure of £5.5million would be generated for the local economy and British high street.”

Steven Foster, Centre Director at White Rose, said:

“We’re excited to welcome The Pop-Up Club to White Rose this month, providing small, sustainable businesses with a platform, and creating a vibrant and unique marketplace full of independent brands for shoppers to enjoy. We think our guests will really enjoy this addition to the centre.”
