Readers’ Photography Competition

It’s a bank holiday weekend and the start of half term. What will you be doing? Have you got any trips planned, or a family barbecue – between the showers!

photohunt-IanWe thought this would be a good week to run a Readers Photography Competition. It’s very simple – just send in your photos of what you get up to this week. It can be a portrait, a nature shot or even a ‘selfie’. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got an expensive DSLR camera or you just use your phone, we’re looking for photos that show of the fun and the interesting things that people in South Leeds get up to.

Here are a few ideas if you haven’t made plans yet.

The bluebells are still out in Middleton Woods and it’s Kids 4 A Quid on Middleton railway this weekend, The Tetley has children’ activities and Postman Pat is bringing the Boomerang Jam festival to the green space outside The Tetley on Sunday and Monday. The Hunslet Club has an Activity Camp for children and Skelton Grange Environment Centre is running a Bushcraft Day. You could explore the river footpaths by bicycle, or window shop in the city centre. Or perhaps you’re going further afield to the Dales or the Coast?

The important thing is to take your camera with you, then send us your best shots.

We’ll have a root around here at South Leeds Towers and come up with some prizes, for children and adults, for the best pictures and of course we will publish a selection here on the blog. So get snapping!

Send your photos, in a jpg file format please, to info@sllife.leeds11.com and mark your email ‘Photo Competition’. Please tell us your name and age. The closing date is Sunday 1 June.
