Race for Life at Beeston Primary School

On Friday 30 June 2017 during the school day, six hundred and seventy seven children took part in Beeston Primary School‘s very own, ‘Race for Life’ sponsored event and non-uniform day. Up to date, the amount raised is an amazing £4,553.21, with monies still being collected.

Throughout the school day, children took part in a 1Km sponsored run, jog or walk around the school playground, with all monies raised being split between Cancer Research UK and School Fund.

The children wrote their own personal messages on their allocated race numbers for friends or family members affected by cancer. On completion of the course, all children received an official Race for Life medal.

The Headteacher, Mr Edensor said:

“Once again, our parents and children have amazed us all with their generosity. I would like to thank all our parents who have donated or helped their children collect sponsors for this very worthwhile cause. The share of the money which has been raised for school, will be used to improve our outdoor areas.

“Our School Council have named this project, ‘Operation Playground’, and with help from our PTA Friends of Beeston, this work has already commenced. Phase two of this project will commence in October 2017 with improvements to our Foundation Stage play ground.”
