West Yorkshire Police – Leeds Inner South.
On Monday (11 April 2016) officers took part in Operation Champion, a pro-active operation targeting vehicles that are deemed unfit for use on the road and vehicles that are benefitting from using illegal fuel.
This was a joint operation with local officers working with the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency and HM Revenue and Customs in the Beeston area.
Police speed devices were also deployed in the area to ensure motorists were complying with speed limits. A number of vehicles were stopped and positive action was taken. The operation was successful and we will continue to run these operations in the South Leeds area to ensure your roads are safe to use.
