Middleton Park FC secretary’s freezing North Sea dip raises £300

Middleton Park football club’s secretary secretary raised around £300 for the club by running into the North Sea at Scarborough’s Annual New Year’s Day Fun Dip.

Wayne Dixon, who’s also a partitime young peoples’ development worker for The Cupboard Young People’s Service, said of the freezing cold dip:

“Thanks to all those who sponsored me, there is still time to throw a bit of money in the pot if you like too, get in touch if you sponsored me and thanks.”

Also, this appeal has come from the club for more girls to join teams:

Although the Club only has an Under 8 Girls team; we have girls training with us of various ages, we are constantly recruiting players to create new girls teams.

If you or someone you know is interested in playing just turn up at training on Saturdays, 11am or get in touch with any club official.

The Club offers Open Age football for all girls over 16 and has strong links with Leeds United Girls’ Centre of Excellence, offering Girls the chance to progress in football and offering somewhere to play for life and not just as a Junior player.
