The popular south Leeds dance project DAZL are once again gearing up to join the Leeds Pride parade on Sunday 5 August, are also this year participating in the new Leeds ‘LGBT Sport Fringe Festival’ – and everyone’s invited!
Leeds Pride is the well-established annual celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans culture – a lively and colourful all-age parade and party around the city centre. Full info on their website here. DAZL will be performing in the parade.
And new for this year is a Sport Fringe Festival, offering inclusive and all-age activities to improve health and well-being for the LGBT+ communities and their allies, in the fortnight leading up to Pride. For full info and event listings, click here.
The DAZL dance fitness team are delivering various family street dance and fitness sessions for the festival, including an adults and teens session at Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre in Middleton (Health for All’s HQ, on Middleton Park Avenue), 6pm-7pm on Monday 30 July. The event is free, but is (on this occasion) only open to those aged 13+. Snacks and refreshments will be on sale. Participants are encouraged to wear ‘wacky’ clothing!
