Local charity benefits from donation

People Matters, a local charity based in Barkston House in Holbeck, received a donation last month from The Freemasons of Yorkshire West Riding. They hosted several members for a presentation of a cheque for £1200 at their office and classrooms.

Those attending were given a tour of the classrooms and found out more about how People Matters work with young people and adults experiencing significant disadvantage both in the local community and city wide. People are able to access a range of services including employment skills training and job clubs.

People Matters development manager Sally said

“It is great to receive a donation like this. It will allow us to purchase essential IT equipment for both staff and volunteers to use when in the office.”

They are still spaces on courses for a September start and several volunteer opportunities. Check them out online at www.peoplemattersleeds.co.uk or on social media @PeopleMattersWestYorkshire or @PeopleMatterLds
