Late summer activities

As the school holidays draw to a close here are two family friendly events to round off your summer.

Friday (30 August 2019) sees a family fun day on the playing field at Church Street, Hunslet from 12-4pm. The event promises youth activities, face painting, DJ, information stalls including the Police and Fire Service. Refreshments will be served all day.

The free event has been organised by Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association

Then on Sunday, city centre roads will be closed to traffic for Let’s Ride Leeds organised by British Cycling and sponsored by HSBC.

There’s lots to do – from fun activities and challenges for the whole family to music, local street food and live stunt shows. There is a 6km loop to ride, plus festival hubs in Millennium Square and Woodhouse Moor.

Come along and enjoy seeing your city from the saddle. You don’t have to do the full distance – just as much or as little as you want. You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist. There will be no cars on the road, so you can wobble, zig-zag and stop as much as you like.

It’s free, fun and the perfect activity for the whole family.
