Kids lead the way with litter pick this Tuesday

Beeston and Holbeck Kidz Klub are holding a community litter-pick on Tuesday 21 May 2019 – and would love others to come and help!

Attendees should come to Beeston Hill United Free Church on Malvern Road for a briefing at 4:45pm, before going out at 5pm – then returning to the church to share tea and cake from 6pm. The litter pick will focus on the neighbourhoods around Malvern Road.

Mark Hodgkinson, who volunteers with Kidz Klub and lives locally, commented:

“We’ve been getting the kids to reflect this term on how they can make a difference in the community. And we’d love a broad range of others to come out and pitch in – like with the local Spring Clean events that we’ve run the past few years in this area. We obviously want to help clear up the area, our area – but also help the youngster to get inspired, and see that they’re part of a much wider group of people with a similar heart for this community. Please spread the word!”

All are welcome at the event, and all kit will be provided – although please wear rough clothes that you don’t mind getting mucky. Tea and cake will be provided for free, although please bring more to share if you wish. The event is being run in association with the local St Luke’s Tenants and Residents Association.
