Inspector Lucy Leadbeater, who heads the South Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:

“Local parks and public spaces are an important part of every community and they should be places that are safe for everyone to enjoy.

“Sadly on occasions they can attract crime and anti-social behaviour, which is something my team and our partner agencies continue to work very hard to tackle.

“As part of that ongoing work we are running a series of community action events on Saturday in partnership with colleagues from the Force’s Operation Jemlock and alongside elected members, partner agencies and members of the community.

“Our focus will be on working together to tidy up the parks while identifying and addressing any issues of concern around crime and anti-social behaviour to help make these vital community spaces safer and feel safer for all to enjoy.

“We would very much welcome members of the public to attend these events and support their local community.”
