Hunslet Club Boxer Reaches Televised Quarter Finals on Sky Sports Prize Fighter

Hunslet Club Boxer Terry Broadbent brought some South Leeds sporting talent to the TV screens when he reached the quarter finals of Prize Fighter live on Sky Sports on Weds October 12th in front of a tv audience of hundreds of thousands, he put up a great fight but was beaten on points 30-27 by the eventual winner on the night by reigning British Welterweight Champion Lee Haskins.

You can read a Yorkshire Evening Post interview, prior to the evening with Terry and Hunslet Club coach Darren Rhodes here and his Prize Fighter Profile at this link. Sky Sports described Terry as a “Game battler” on their web news story about the night. While the Daily Mail carries this great picture from the evening. Boxingscene.com’s review of the bout stated that the champion “scored a  harder-than-expected win and that the fight wasn’t exactly going his way in certain spots. Broadbent applied smart pressure, especially in the second.”

Everyone at the Hunslet Club was proud of how Terry performed on the night and progressed as well as he did in the competition. We are sure that this young fighter will soon go far.

As a matter of interest you can see footage from Terry’s first professional fight at Elland Road back in February on youtube here his second fight in May here with part 1 and part 2 and his third fight here.
