sc4L, the consortium that is delivering the housing regeneration scheme currently transforming Holbeck and Beeston Hill have released figures showing their progress over the last 12 months together with a newsletter for residents.
The figures show that they have completed refurbishments to 373 properties (including Little London) and demolished nine sites. On the staffing side they’ve recruited 34 new apprentices and created 49 new skilled jobs which have been filled by local people.
As previously reported, the first new homes have been let. Homes at Folly Lane, Coupland Place and Road, Malvern Road and St. Lukes Green are all due to be finished during 2015, as are the new homes at Holbeck Moor Road.
If you have any questions about the works there is a Repairs Surgery every Monday at Ingram Gardens Community Centre from 9:30 to 11am. The Community Engagement Group will also be holding a meeting on Wednesday 21 January from 2-3pm again at Ingram Gardens Community Centre.

I live in this area and I think that the new houses look a lot nicer than the old ones that were demolished. I just wish they matched their high standards when it came to finishing off the pavements in front of the new houses, the pavements on Beeston Road and Malvern Road are now very bumpy, I’m not sure if the pavements are finished or not, but it does make it difficult when I’m pushing my dad in his wheelchair and usually end up walking on the road.
