Holbeck business tenants’ charity run

The Round Foundry and Marshall’s Mill estate in Leeds put together its first corporate running team to take part in the Leeds 10k. The team, consisting of members of staff from a number of businesses on the estate, have raised £620 so far after completing the race on Sunday 7 July 2019.

The estate, which is home to over 50 businesses in the creative and digital sphere, supports the values of mental and physical wellbeing and promotes these to tenants. Taking part in the Leeds 10k meant that the team was able to not only take part in physical activity but to also raise funds for Leeds Mind, a charity that champions mental health.

The team is unusual in that it consisted of ten members from several different businesses rather than a single organisation or business, all coming together as part of The Round Foundry and Marshall’s Mill community to take part in the fundraising effort.

Events Co-Ordinator at the estate, Lisa Ellen Riley, commented:

“It was fantastic to see the community on the estate come together to take part in the physical challenge of the Leeds 10k to raise funds for Leeds Mind. We all enjoyed taking part on the day and we’re looking forward to beating our times and our fundraising target in next year’s 10k.”

Charli Brunning, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Leeds Mind said:

“A huge thank you goes to The Round Foundry and Marshall’s Mill Team who chose to support Leeds Mind during this years Leeds 10km running challenge. On a very warm and windless day, the team all ran fantastic times and raised an incredible amount of money, with the total currently standing at just over £600! Your continued support enables us to provide mental health services to those who need them most in Leeds.”

Team members consisted of individuals from All Response Media, Publish Interactive, Simple Usability, MediaCom and Robot Food, plus a member of staff from Marshall’s Mill.
