Three hundred guests gathered for Hamara’s third annual Community Awards ceremony last night. We were entertained by singers and dancers from South Leeds Academy and heard from members of the Hamara “family” about what attending programmes at the centre means for them. Academics from Leeds University and Leeds Metropolitan University spoke about the important work Hamara does in the health field including helping older people remain active.

Then we came onto the awards themselves.
