By giving out grants to local projects that run activities during the school holidays Leeds Community Foundation aim to help vulnerable children by funding access to food, fun activities, learning and support for families.

With over 30,000 schoolchildren affected, Leeds Community Foundation is appealing to community organisations to apply for the Healthy Holiday grants as a result of their ongoing Holiday Hunger fundraising campaign.

The fund will provide grants of two levels £500-£2,500 and £500-£5,000 to support locally-based community activities across the most deprived areas of Leeds.

Pip Goff, Grants and Programme Director at Leeds Community Foundation said:

“We want local projects who know the need in their community to help children have healthy, happy holidays that will increase learning and opportunities. Projects might be sport, craft or dance based and we are really looking forward to seeing the response.

“With increasing numbers of schoolchildren in Leeds going without food in the school holidays, we are delighted to be able to help support organisations that make a big difference in Leeds.”
