Festive fun at the library

December has already seen a range of Christmas-themed events at libraries in South Leeds and the fun continues this week and next.

Perhaps the highlight will be the performance of Jenny’s Christmas at Beeston library on Wednesday 20 December at 6pm.

This one woman show by Curly Tales theatre company tells the story of Jenny who learns from her mum that her Grandad has gone. She doesn’t really feel like celebrating Christmas any more. That is until she discovers his old, worn out suitcase …

The show is Pay As You Feel, but you will need to book a ticket via www.ticketsource.co.uk/curly-tales.

There will be special Christmas Storytimes for under 5’s today (14 December 2017) 11.00-11.45am at Dewsbury Road Community Hub; and on Friday 22 December 9.30-11.00am at Hunslet Library. Come along and hear Christmas stories, sing some songs and meet a very special guest all the way from the North Pole!
All free drop in sessions

At the Christmas Music-Making for 5-12 year olds you will be using iPads create your own festive tune, use live loops and different instruments, edit your tune in the studio and have lots of fun! No previous experience is needed for these free sessions, but booking is essential, go to: www.ticketsource.co.uk/leedslibraryevents.

The Teen Christmas Zine Workshop runs on Thursday 14 December 3.15–4.45pm at Beeston Library. It’s a free drop in at any time session for 11-16 year olds. Come along to this fun workshop and create your own #zine. Get creative with stamps, washi tape and lots of coloured pens! All resources will be provided.

Finally, The Creatives Club will meet on Tuesday 19 December 3.30-4.30pm at Dewsbury Road Community Hub.
5-12 year olds are invited to come along and make something festive for Christmas and have lots of fun.
