Updated: Dewsbury Road slip road closure

UPDATE: These roadworks have been moved back a week to coincide with half term when traffic flows will be lighter. The work will now start on Sunday 28 October at 7:30am and the road will remain closed until 5pm on Tuesday 30 October.

The city-bound slip road off the ring road at the White Rose Shopping Centre (Simon Bottom’s Bridge) will be close for three days to allow replacement of bridge joints.

The bridge carries the northbound only slip road of Dewsbury Road over the southbound only Millshaw Road, near to the White Rose Centre.

The work is due to start on Sunday 21 October at 7:30am and the road will remain closed until 5pm on Tuesday 23 October. The closure is necessary to allow the work to be carried out safely.

Full traffic management will be in place with a diversion and signage for road users to follow. The existing road is one way (northbound). The short diversion route will be via the northbound Millshaw Road to the A6110 roundabout, turning right along the Ring Road to the A635 Dewsbury Road (see attached plan).
