Dancers continue to dazzle thanks to Vodafone

Vodafone have stepped in to support the award winning dance group DAZL by sponsoring t-shirts and equipment.

The company are working with CityFibre to offer Gigafast fibre broadband to the home with speeds up to nine hundred Mbps upload and download across Leeds. With the first properties to benefit being in Hunslet and Beeston, Vodafone were keen to offer support to local grassroots organisations.

DAZL is based in Middleton but runs groups right across South Leeds and across the city. Everyone from tots to older people are benefiting from dance and movement sessions.

Dawn Whitehead, Vodafone’s Gigafast Manager Leeds explained:

“Vodafone takes its corporate social responsibility (CSR) very seriously. We are working in the area and hope to have many more customers soon, so we are keen to give something back. We are so impressed with the work DAZL does in this community and are delighted to help them where we can.”

This has started by providing branded t-shirts and pom-poms. Ian Rodley, DAZL’s Director explained what the support meant:

“We work with children from all backgrounds. Being able to give them a t-shirt to perform in rather than charging them £8 means everyone’s on a level playing field. I know that many of our families just can’t afford that extra £8. I don’t want our dancers ever to feel second best, because they are not second best.”

Both Dawn and Ian (and Rocket Kid) are looking forward to developing a very positive and mutually beneficial relationship.
