Councillor’s Jam Jar Plea

Beeston & Holbeck Councillor Angela Gabriel has issued an unusual call for help – requesting unwanted fruit and jam jars.

When not representing her constituents, Councillor Gabriel makes jams and preserves which she sells at community events and at Park Fisheries on Beeston Road. All the profits from the jam sales is donated to Beeston Festival and Holbeck Gala.

Now she’s asking for your help. If you have a fruit tree or bush in your garden and don’t want the fruit, please donate it for jam. Similarly unwanted vegetables can find a home in a chutney or preserve. Glass jam jars are also required – any size will do coffee jars, pasta sauce jars, or jam jars.

If you can help please contact Angela on 07946 632 468 or email: angela.gabriel@leeds.gov.uk.
