Community awards nominations now open

Leeds City of Sanctuary was awarded the Special Initiative Award at the Hamara Community Awards last year

The annual Hamara Community Awards are presented on six categories for people and organisations who have contributed to Leeds’ communities and who continue to put others before themselves.

The popular awards are an annual event – and nominations for the 2012 event are now open!

Hamara Healthy Living Centre is based on Tempest Road, Beeston.

Nomination Categories

Women’s Achievement Award. To be awarded to the female who has achieved outstanding service within the community.

Community Organisation of the Year. Recognising the organisation which has made the biggest impact through its work in the community.

Young Persons Award. Celebrating the achievement of a young person through their input into voluntary / community work.

Service to the Community. Awarded to an individual or an organisation for the contribution made to society through the outstanding work they have undertaken.

Lifetime Achievement Award. Awarded to an individual deemed to have provided services to the community on a prolonged basis

Special Initiative Award. Acknowledging an inspirational or exceptional initiative which has helped to make a major difference to the community or society at large.
