Cockburn John Charles students’ charity effort

Cockburn John Charles student council members closed out a fantastic term by organising a non-uniform day to raise money to support local charity, Leeds South and East Foodbank.

The students raised over £700 and were supported in their endeavour by the community team at the Hunslet branch of Morrisons, who also contributed food and toiletries to the total.

Head of School, Siobhan Roberts said:

“The students wanted to make a worthwhile and meaningful contribution to a charity that is literally on our doorstep. The money raised, and the goods donated have the potential to make a real difference to local families who need it most this festive period.

“This event is a typical reflection of the thoughtful and generous nature of the students and staff of Cockburn John Charles Academy.”
