Cockburn John Charles students are on the right tracks

Year 7 students from Cockburn John Charles Academy were invited to participate in a STEM opportunity provided by LNER.
The project involved designing a station of the future, taking into account information they have learnt about the future developments of the rail industry.

The students were competing against representatives from other schools and academies with a group from CJCA emerging as the overall winners. The winning group each received certificates and First Class rail travel for their family on the LNER network.

Head of school, Siobhan Roberts said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for our students demonstrating their resilience, innovation and confidence to present their project to industry representatives.

“We are always keen to nurture the next generation of engineers, scientists and technological entrepreneurs and this achievement bears testament to the increasing opportunities we are able to offer to our students and their families.”
