“Bring the Happy” is brought to Beeston

A project that is seeking to map people’s happiest memories has arrived in Beeston to collect more memories.

Bring The Happy mapBring the Happy is a collaboration between artists Invisible Flock and the band Hope & Social. It started in Leeds Market and having toured Britain and beyond it is back in Leeds. For the next two weeks a segment of the Leeds map will be at Hillside in Beeston.

Residents are urged to view the map, look up the memories already listed in the area – shown by numbered Perspex columns – and add their own happy memories. If you can’t get along to Hillside, you can view the map and add your memories online at: http://invisibleflock.co.uk/bringthehappy/map.html

Bring The Happy Live will be performed at two free shows at the Town Hall on 16 and 17 December 2013.

“Somewhere between a wedding and a wake Bring the Happy attempts an extravagant portrait of happiness, as thousands of memories collected from across the UK are retold in all their beautiful, sometimes tragic, sometimes ridiculous and occasionally mundane glory.

“In collaboration with Hope & Social the live performance promises to be interactive, intimate and highly moving evening where we ask you to join us in celebrating the happiness of Leeds this Christmas.”

Tickets for the shows are free but must be booked in advance from the West Yorkshire Playhouse box office 0113 213 7700.
