Yvonne Crowther who runs the social enterprise Café Me’n’u on Cardinal Road in Beeston is appealing for help. She will be opening the café on Christmas Day for lonely older people on the estate and serving them Christmas dinner. She has support from volunteers to staff the café and the local youth club are busy making table decorations, but they need cash donations and raffle prizes to make sure the day goes well.

Fancy working with young people?

The Youth Service are looking to appoint a significant number of Youth Support Workers (YSW’s), there are vacancies across the city for anyone interested in working with young people predominantly in the evenings, weekends and school holidays. We’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic people who want to make a difference in the lives of young people, age should not be seen as a barrier.

No formal qualifications are required as training will be given, Youth Support Workers will always work with qualified Youth Workers or Advanced Practitioners.
