Belle Isle Gala returns on Saturday (4 July 2026) once again spreading across Windmill Primary School and Coopers Field.
As well as the usual four giant inflatables and the climbing wall, we are bringing back Ian’s Mobile Farm, and introducing two children’s fairground rides—all of this is free. There will even be free facepainters, and appearances by princesses and local rugby mascots Ronnie the Rhino and Kingy the Lion.
There will be more stalls than ever, and a good selection of low cost food available—all for no more than £4.50 a meal and £1.50 for a snack or cake. There will be pizza, burgers, hot dogs, curries and jacket potatoes, with free water provided by South Leeds Cars, and an ice cream van selling ice creams and lollies at £2.
There will be a quiet hour on Coopers Field only from 11-12, before the school playground is opened up too, and the Gala is officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Leeds.
Other attractions include a dog show, performances from local dance and majorette groups, more stalls than ever, a Caribbean-style steel band and the Lofthouse Brass Band.
