Beeston Neighbourhood Forum met for the first time on 17 February 2015 in Beeston Village Community Centre. John Hall of the Council Neighbourhood Planning Unit gave the opening address.
The Constitution was approved and officers were elected. Greg Turton was appointed Chair, Robert Winfield, Vice Chair, Mark Parry, Secretary and Bill Birch, Treasurer. Greg Turton, in closing the meeting, invited all who cared about Beeston to get involved in the Neighbourhood Forum regardless of ethnic background. He said there had been challenges in completing the designation stage and more challenges to come. But the opportunities available to the Beeston Community were immense.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 11 March, 2015 at 7:45 pm at the same venue. Election of Committee members, development issues contributing to the Beeston Plan and arrangements for the fact finding trip to Wolverhampton will be part of the agenda.
