Beeston community comes together for litter pick and family fun

Aspiring Communities has organised a litter pick in Cross Flatts Park on Sunday (13 May 2018) to be followed by refreshments and family fun.

Shaz Akhtar, one of the organisers, said:

We would like our community to come together to keep the people’s park a clean and safe environment for everyone to enjoy. We live in a beautiful diverse community and its a lovely way to bring everyone together

“We have worked alongside Beeston in Bloom and Into University to bring in some fun activities. We will have a few stalls including henna, balloon modelling and face painting, plus cakes and ice cream too.”

The activities take place around the Watsonian Pavilion, near the top (Beeston Road) end of the park. From 11:40am to 1pm come and get a bag and a grabber and help with a litter pick around the park. Then from 1-3pm relax, enjoy the fun and make new friends.

The event has been funded by local Councillors on the Inner South Community Committee.

  1. Pity councillors for Hunslet don’t do same in Hunslet Moor but being numbers it’s of no surprise. Bet they were at Cross Flatts though.
