Appeal after pedestrian dies on M621 in Holbeck

A man who was seriously injured when he was hit by a lorry on the M621 in Leeds has died in hospital.

The 47-year-old man, John Rangeley from Beeston, was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry near to junction 3 at 5.02am on Monday (4 November 2019).

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary in a critical condition and underwent emergency treatment but was pronounced dead on the following afternoon.

The incident is being investigated by West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team and officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or the circumstances leading up to it to contact them.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with relevant dash-cam footage.
