Marie Curie needs your help

Are you looking for a fun day of volunteering? Then look no further! The Leeds Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 14 May and we need your help! If you’re not much of a runner but you still want to be involved then volunteer for Marie Curie to support our runners!

Marie Curie supports people living with terminal illnesses, and their families, by providing care in their homes and in our hospices. We have some amazing people running in the Leeds Half Marathon to raise money so we can continue with the work we do, and we want to show them as much support as we can! We’d like you to join us on half marathon day either to help marshal the marathon route or cheer on our runners!

We’re looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to help marshal the route, making sure our runners know there they’re going and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Alternatively, we’re also looking for volunteers to wave some banners around and support our runners at the Cheer Station! It’s a fun place with an amazing atmosphere to watch the half marathon pass by with other Marie Curie supporters.

In return for your time and enthusiasm you’ll get:

  • An official Marie Curie volunteer t-shirt
  • As many cheer props as you can handle! Cow bells, whistles, pom-poms; all to help you stand out in the crowd!
  • A huge welcome, a great atmosphere, and the feeling that you’re helping do something amazing for a great cause.

The half marathon takes place on Sunday 14 May 2017. To find out more or register your interest please gets in touch with Matt Carruthers via email on matt.carruthers@mariecurie.org.uk or on 07545 419569.
