Video: Middleton’s railway heritage

Middleton has a very rich industrial heritage.  This year marks the 200th anniversary of the first revenue earning locomotives to run on the Middleton Railway, in 1812, and of course the first in the world. This was also the start of the Leeds Loco building industry.

South Leeds Life will shortly be revealing details of an exciting new history project in Middleton, so watch this space.
